Projects

Selected work from the lab to a usable prototype.

We publish the systems we can stand behind: focused prototypes with explicit scope, measured evidence, and a path into operational software.

FORGE

Live prototypeTraining systems3D / AR / MR

Active prototype

Open a rights-cleared source. Author the model. Verify it before export.

FORGE is a live authoring prototype for articulated 3D training content. It opens four teaching packages — a hex-nut drawing, a bolt–nut assembly, a three-blade propeller, and a centrifugal pump — then keeps provenance, blocks a bad draft, and writes a training package.

Teaching geometry, not OEM photoreal CAD, and not a fielded headset trainer. The propeller compare view is illustrative deviation, not a tolerance inspection.

Open the prototype

Pipeline

The same loop on every package.

01Author

Select a part and change a parameter. The propeller can show the candidate, synthetic scan evidence, or a comparison.

02Verify

The package is pass, review, or blocked. A rejected draft stays off the approved model.

03Correct

High-impact edits need a reviewer and a reason. The check runs again after the change.

04Export

Parameters, validation, procedure state, and edit history leave as a teaching package.

A

Four live packages

Hex nut, bolt–nut, propeller, and pump share one package contract. There is no upload step.

B

Source stays attached

A CC0 drawing, a FORGE-authored assembly table, a 2022 propeller vocabulary, and a technical-manual excerpt.

C

Checked before export

Findings name the failed check. Unity and Unreal imports of teaching packages are archived in the lab.

POINT

Live lab prototype

Ask a procedure. Quote the source. Refuse if it is not in the corpus.

POINT is a cited performance-support lab system. It retrieves an approved corpus with hybrid BM25 and TF-IDF search, returns extractive quotes with publication IDs, fences publications by role, writes a session audit, and refuses when the procedure is missing or the question looks like injection. The live lab can run the three locked beats on one screen.

Live TRL 4 lab. Retrieve an approved corpus, quote the source, refuse if it is not there. Gold set 20/20 on SAMPLE pubs.

This is a TRL 4 lab prototype on a synthetic unclassified corpus. It is not a Navy system, not TRL 6, and not accredited. Operators, maintainers, and admins see different publications.

Pipeline

Retrieve only what the role is allowed to see, then quote or refuse.

01Retrieve

Hybrid BM25 plus TF-IDF cosine, fused by reciprocal rank. No embeddings and no API key.

02Fence

Operator, maintainer, and admin retrieve only the publications their role is allowed to see.

03Quote

Answers are passages from the approved corpus, shown as a procedure with a publication ID.

04Refuse

If the procedure is not in the corpus, POINT will not guess. Prompt-injection in the question is blocked.

A

Cited technician answers

A maintainer restart after a failed patch quotes MNT-EDGE-04 instead of generating a procedure.

B

Role-separated pubs

The same restart question keeps operators inside watchstanding guidance. They do not get the maintainer steps.

C

Audit hash

Each answer returns a query hash and latency so a session can be logged without storing the full question on the page.
